Day Itinerary
01.

Arrival by Druk Aair - Paro
During this journey, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchen Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport the representative of Atlas Tours and Trek will receive you and help you with the visa and other formalities, thereafter drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, which is about two hours. Overnight in hotel.

 
   
02.

Thimphu – Sightseeing
Morning drive for the sightseeing of the Thimphu valley with the Nunnery, National Library, Painting School and Handicraft Emporium and then drive back for lunch. After lunch visit Memorial Chorten (Stupa) of His Late Majesty the 3rd King of Bhutan. Visit Simthokha Dzong, the first fort built by Shabdrung who unified the kingdom in the 17th century, now also houses the school for study of National Language – Dzongkha. Overnight in hotel.

 
03.

Thimphu – Gangtey
After breakfast drive to Phobjikha (127 km). During this journey you pass Dochula pass (3,080 m). From here one can see the Himalayan range of snow clapped mountains if the day is clear. Pack lunch will be served at Wangdiphodrang and after lunch continue the journey to Phobjikha. Overnight in camp, Alt. 3,900 m.

 
04.

Gangtey – Paro
Early morning visit the site of the black neck crane. There are more than a hundred cranes which come all the way from Siberia Every year during the winter season. After early lunch drive back to Paro. Overnight in hotel.

 
05.
Paro – Sightseeing
After breakfast drive the winding road northwest up the Pa Chu to Drugyel Dzong, the ruined Fort (destroyed by fire in 1950.) which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasion. From here one can have the view of sacred Mt. Chomolhari on clear days. On the way back stop for a view of Taktsang (tiger’s nest) Monastery which clings on the sheer drop of rock face where the saint Guru Padma-sambhava landed on the flying tiger and mediated there. After lunch drive to Ta Dzong former Watch Tower which now houses the National Museum and then walk down passing close by the Paro Dzong, crossing the Bhutanese typical wooden roofed bridge to Paro town. After a short stroll in town drive back to hotel for the night halt.
 
06.
Paro – Airport for departure
Early breakfast and drive to the airport for departure by Druk-air to your onward journey.
